Level 2 NVQ Certificate Road Passenger Vehicle Driving
Our flexible course can be delivered face-to-face or remotely.
We welcome all candidates that have a commitment and drive to succeed. The candidates must attend punctually and be dedicated to learning, and be driving a taxi or private hire vehicle presently. Candidates will be required to show acceptable evidence of English Language (speaking and listening) at B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. This equivalent to ESOL
Cromwell College will provide training for Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi & Private Hire). This course has been structured to develop, support, and enhance the knowledge of potential or existing drivers who are looking to pursue, or continue, a career in transporting passengers.
This qualification has now been made mandatory by some Licensing Authorities, and is nationally recognised. It provides the candidates with the understanding into the skills and knowledge that is required to succeed in the taxi and private hire service. The course will further provide the candidates with the confidence that they require to succeed in this field.
Candidates who are undertaking this course will be required to complete a number of modules from mandatory and additional groups. These will be selected according to their current work position.
Mandatory Units are:
- Drive a Taxi or Private Hire Vehicle in a Professional Manner
- Provide Professional Customer Service in a Taxi or in the Private Hire Industry
- Provide a Safe and Legal Vehicle for Transporting Passengers by Taxi and/ or Private Hire
- Provide a Transport Service in a Taxi or Private Hire Industries for Customers who Require Assistance
- Provide a Service to customers Using a Wheelchair in an Accessible Taxi or Private Hire Vehicle
- Ensure the Health and Safety of the Taxi and Private Hire Driver and Passengers
- Transport Parcel, Luggage and Other Items in the Taxi or Private Industries
- Transport Children and Young Persons by Taxi, Private Hire or Chauffeuring
Additional Units:
- Carry Fare Paying Passengers within the Framework of the Private Hire or Taxi Industry.
- Process Fares and Charges for Private Hire or the Taxi Passengers
- Plan Routes in the Taxi and Private Hire Industries
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities in the Passenger Transport Sector
- Process Telephone Bookings
Assessments:
Cromwell College provides on-going assessment of student work through fully qualified assessors, who are appointed specifically for this course. Successful candidates will achieve a Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi and Private Hire).
